"Launch Ramp - Dunlap California"

Built by the hang glider guys so they can run off the edge of the clip above Dunlap, just off highway 180 near Kings Canyon national park where they use thermal updrafts to climb up thousands of feet from here and soar above the Sierra mtns for hours. See also www.dunlaplanding.com. This image was surprising in that it was a very hazy day and the Hoya r72 (720 nanometer IR cutoff) Infrared filter really cut through the haze. You could not see beyond the first set of ridges with the naked eye and if you look carefully, on the righthand side you can see the coast range (about 60 miles away). Tech Info: Digital Infrared Photography Taken with the Betterlight Digital scanning back with (portability option) in a Linhof Technika 4x5, 90mm Caltar lens at about f32, 16bit approx 250 meg file, 8C, 6000x8000, (0+0), 100%, bent 6 stops, 1/400 s, R67.1, G54.3, B82.9
